Literally could not think of a better place to turn 23 in than Paris. I mean it’s Paris! This Europe trip wasn’t planned to be a birthday trip, it just seems that I travel on my birthday a lot. Last year I was in Seattle, and now this year Paris! I definitely am not going to complain about traveling for my birthday though! It’s seriously just so fun!

We started our day a little late, but it was enjoyable to sleep in and take our time to get ready. Our first stop was the Saint Chappelle since we didn’t have time to see if the day before. It’s right across the way from Notre Dame and it is so amazing! The entire room is covered in stain glass windows and all the colorful light coming in is just magical. It’s amazing to me how old and beautiful churches are overseas. In Southern California it’s very rare to find a church with such amazing architecture.

We then took the trek up past the Louvre to Ladurée Paris au Printemps de la Mode for my birthday lunch. Ladurée is one of my favorite places, and I’ve visited both of the ones we have in New York. Visiting one in Paris was seriously on my bucket list, and I was not missing out! It was such a perfect birthday lunch. I felt like I was living in a dream. Tori and I split a sandwhich, we had wine, and ended the meal with desert and tea. It was so cute, they even put a candle in a macaron for my birthday! You can bet I save that little ribbon too!

After our perfect little lunch we headed to the Tuileries Garden and sat and watched the boats for a little bit. That’s also where we took the outfit photos which are seriously some of my favorites from Paris! I think I need Tori to just always be my photographer. From there we headed to Musée de l’Orangerie which is just on the opposite side of the gardens. The people we stayed with told us all about this museum, and I’m a Monet fan so I was really looking forward to it. The Orangerie totally lived up to expectations too! I absolutely loved sitting in the oval room, and learning more about the water lilies painting.

To end my Parisian birthday we also met two different cats on our walk home. They just made my birthday that much better!

This moment, this glorious and perfect moment. The city was fairly quiet, not quite awake yet. Very few people were out and about; the photographers, the runners. Just enough to know the city had life, but not ready for the busyness of the day. There were a few car engines, but no honking. The tourists were not awake. It was simple and peaceful.

This moment when the sun was barely peeking over the rooftops, this moment when the light was not yet harsh but rather soft and warm, this moment of a golden hour morning. This moment is just another moment where Paris stole a little bit more of my heart. It will forever be engrained in my mind how even on a cool morning I felt warm. How in a boisterous and busy city I felt the calm. How in a city with a language gap I still felt like I belonged.

It was a small piece of heaven to sit and watch the city wake up. Slowly, more cars joined the road, slowly the streets became more crowded. Just another tourist on the streets. Yet, it felt like I had seen a secret part of Paris. A part that not everyone gets to see. Where she is shining and calm and just so close to perfection.

London Calling

Passport Photo Travel Flight Outfit Bath England Bath England IMG_2588 Passport Photo

I have been dying to share my travel posts with y’all! This trip to Europe was something I have been looking forward to for a long time. I traveled with one of my best friends in the whole world, Tori. We’ve known each other for 8, yes 8, years now. We met as sophomores in high school and apparently we really like hanging out and still continue too. Going to Europe was something we had talked about for a long time. It was mentioned between us multiple times while in college, yet the timing and funds just were never there.

Last August, I found an amazing deal on flights to Paris through Airfare Watch Dog’s twitter. It was such a good deal I just couldn’t pass it up. I just about begged Tori and we did it. No plans, no ideas, we just bought the tickets. So for six months we researched, and planned…or rather I planned and my type A personality really showed as I put together our itinerary.

Our first stop is traveling from Los Angeles to London! From there we took a few trains and headed to stay with my cousin who lives in Bath, UK. We stayed in Bath with my cousin and his wife for a few days and took some day trips around England (those posts to come later).

Check out the first travel vlog below! Tell me what you think!

Blate! Blogger Date with Current Habits

November 17, 2015

Moo's Musing Blogger Meet Up Moos Musing and Current Habits Shae from Current Habits Blogger Meet Up Moo's Musing 25 by 25

Meeting another blogger has always been a dream of mine! I think the blogisphere is something so incredible, and the friendships that I have built with other bloggers all over the world is incredible! This past weekend I got to meet up with Shae from over at Current Habits. She, like me, writes a life and style blog. This was actually the second time that we met up, but the first time we didn’t take pictures (I know #bloggerfail!). So this time around I made sure to bring my camera.

A blate (blogger date) is seriously so awesome! Shae lives about an hour from where I do, so both times we’ve met right in the middle. We actually connected first over Instagram, and then found out we were both bloggers and loved each other’s styles. I think that doing a blogger meet up is so helpful and encouraging. Shae has taught me so much about analytics and has been so inspiring to me. I hope that I was a help to her too! Meeting up with other bloggers is so great since you both can relate in so many different ways and each have knowledge the other may not have.

I would encourage anyone to reach out to other bloggers in your area, or if you are going to be visiting somewhere that you know a great blogger is, to try and meet up! That’s the coolest thing about blogging. The fact that you can meet people and literally become friends with them in a way you never would have thought before!

Taylor Swift Concert

August 31, 2015

Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert Taylor Swift Concert

Going to a Taylor Swift concert has been something I’ve wanted to do since I was probably around the age of 11. I mean “Teardrops On My Guitar”…can she get more relatable!? I’ve been a Swiftie since then and have followed along with Taylor Swift’s incredible career since then and all the tours that she’s done. Her “Red” CD was absolutely my favorite! I would have loved to go to that tour, and since I wasn’t able to make it I knew I was not going to miss this one!

My sister and I bought our tickets back in November when they went on sale. The waiting game for this concert was killer! Once we got to August, it was all I could think about getting to. We started planning what to wear, the drive down, and when I would need to be off work. We chose to order shirts off etsy since they were less expensive and I didn’t really want her face on my top. We ordered these tops a few weeks before the concert and they are perfect! I really love them since I can wear them as a graphic tee too.

Maddi and I chose to get to LA a bit before the concert. We went to the LA Library and explored a bit. They have this adorable stationary section which I of course loved! My sister was even able to get a signed copy of a fiction book too! That made her really happy. We ate dinner and then headed over to the concert. It was seriously so hard to stay calm! Once we got inside it was even worse!

Vance Joy was her opener, and then Haim. I had never really listened to either, but I loved Vance Joy! He is totally my type of music! Haim is more my sister’s style, but they were still good. Between each act they had a little pause as they changed the stage. I decided to make a little vlog and combine all the videos I took that night. Give me a little break as it’s the first time I’ve ever done a vlog!
