This is the last post from my New York trip and it is by far my favorite! I’ve been dying to get this post up. After seeing this post from Amber and I watched her little trip to the SoHo Ladurée on snapchat I knew I wanted to visited. So I made the reservation for us and on the second to last day my sister and I trekked down there.

It was absolutely stunning. Seriously I felt like I was in a fairytale. The outdoor patio was gorgeous, all the tabletops were white marble, and the waiters were all French. Both my sister and I ordered our own tea and food. I ordered their raspberry french toast with rose whip creme. Talk about delicious food. I loved every aspect of out little excursion. It couldn’t have been more perfect.

This dress. We all know it. I’ve seen it worn so many ways, and I love it every time. It’s so girly and feminine. It just makes me happy. I knew I was going to wear it while in New York since it is so light and airy, and with the humidity it was perfect!

When my family was planning our trip I really wanted to tour a mansion or some sort of large house out of Manhattan. As I was searching I came across Lyndhurst and just fell in love. I mean look at this mansion. We not only got to tour the house and go all the way to the top of one of the towers, but we also got to wander around the gardens they had. It was so much fun!

Rompin’ Around Brooklyn

One of my favorite parts of this New York trip was collaborating with a photographer friend of mine, Graham. He’s out there staying right in the city for a design internship, and it was so awesome working with him! We met up and he showed me around SoHo, and then over to Brooklyn Heights. This trip, I really got to explore different parts of the city that I had never been to and it was so awesome seeing all the amazing architecture and culture. Not to mention, Brooklyn is wayyyy more adorable than I ever thought! I mean look at that adorable red door!

I scored this romper at a thrift store in New York. Two years ago when I visited the city, I stumbled upon this amazing thrift store that I completely fell in love with, so this trip I knew I had to go back. It has great deals on amazing brands! I absolutely loved this romper because it felt so old school and vintage. It has a sort of a 1940ish look to it. Plus the fabric is so light and airy. I chose to pair it with these open toed wedges which looked adorable, but may not have been the best idea for trekking around the city. So lesson learned as fun as it is exploring wear better shoes!

Throw It On

Dresses are such interesting pieces of clothing. There are so many kinds of dresses! Unlike jeans where they are simple just different shades of denim, dresses literally can work for all kinds of events. There are dress that can make you feel like a princess, dresses that work to wear when you meet the queen, dresses that are church appropriate, casual dresses, beach dresses, and even dresses that you can sleep in. I mean you name it and there’s probably a dress out there for that occasion!

This dress I feel like is super casual! It’s one of those dresses that you see the meme’s about where it is just easy to throw on when you really don’t want to try to match two articles of clothing. I think it would work great as a beach cover too. I chose to wear it in New York since a few of the days were super hot and humid!

My First Designer Bag

This was a big moment for me. Actually, I think it’s a big moment for any women! I bought my first designer bag. A bag that I have wanted for awhile now, but had decided to put to put on the back burner of things I needed to buy.

However, there we were in Greenwich, Connecticut. My family and I had taken the train from Manhattan and we were exploring this adorable little town. I, of course, had to find thrift stores while we were there. So, we find a thrift store and everything in the store is 40% off. Could we have come on a better day?! It was perfect.

There I am just browsing around when I come across the bag. The bag that I have wanted for so long. It was a great deal, and on sale. It could not get any better than that!

So there you have it. How I bought my first designer bag.

Greenwich, Connecticut

Something that I really wanted to do on this past vacation was take a train out of Manhattan. Traveling on the east coast is very different than traveling on the west coast. In California it would take you around 12 hours to go up to another state or if you are going east around 4 or 5. On the east coast though everything is so close! We took an hour train ride and we were in another state. I think that is so cool!

My family decided that we were headed to Greenwich, Connecticut. It was seriously the cutest little town ever! I absolutely loved it. We stayed pretty much near where the train station was, but walked up and down the main road of the town. There were great shops, and amazing little cafes and restaurants to eat at. I also of course, found some great thrift stores (which you can read about tomorrow!).

A Picnic In The Park

If you’ve been following along via snapchat, twitter, or instagram the last two weeks then you know that I just got back from a family trip to New York City. Going on vacation is always such a blessing, but I have to say there is no place like home.

Since this wasn’t our first trip to the city we got to do so many different things. I’ve covered all the basic tourist things that everyone has to do when you visit NYC. I’ve been to the top of the empire state building, and seen the Brooklyn Bridge. So this time around we simply enjoyed the city a bit more.

One of the days while we were visiting we simply had a picnic in Central Park. It was so much fun and relaxing. I love how New York has parks everywhere. They are like little oasis’ in the midst of the chaos of the city. It was lovely to just sit there and watch all the people who come through Central Park and even enjoy all the different kinds of birds you see. It was really calming up until it randomly started raining on us. Then we had to pack up in the rain, but I didn’t mind one bit since we rarely get rain here in So Cal!
