For our last full day of in Seattle Lizzie and I packed so many different things in. We took the monorail up to a different part of Seattle which was super easy to navigate and it dropped us off right where we wanted to be. All in that area was the Space Needle, the Chihuly Glass Gardens, and the EMP museum. The Space Needle was fun, but really windy. I think I expected it to be more like the top of the Empire State Building and it was not nearly that cool.

However, the glass gardens and EMP museum were literally the best! The gardens were so beautiful and it was incredible to see the things that were made by hand. I didn’t really know what the EMP museum was going to be, but it was really cool! They had different pieces from old movies and different rooms based on genres. I really thought it was worth going to.

That last day we were blessed with glorious weather! It didn’t really even sprinkle or get drizzly until around dinner. We were thrilled to have the sun as we trekked all over. We ended our day by seeing the first Starbucks down in Pikes Place.

This trip was seriously so incredible. It made me wish I had traveled for other spring breaks.

Seattle Day 3 – Birthday Attire

Birthday, birthday, birthday! My birthday is always near spring break and it’s so nice since I get the week around my birthday off. It was so much fun to get to celebrate while in Seattle. My friend and I got all dressed up and bundled up and trekked down to the piers for some crab. It was so fresh and delicious. Here in California they give you a little pinching thing to help crack the crab, but at The Crab Pot they gave up a little hammer to pound it open. It was such a difference experience eating crab that way, but it was delicious!

Part one, and two.

The second day that we spent in Seattle was actually my birthday! To check out day one of Seattle click here.

Since this was actually our first full day in Seattle we actually chose to sleep in and we didn’t trek out to the city until about noon. Since it was our first day there we wanted to just explore a bit, and we decided to visit the aquarium as well. The day before we had discovered this adorable little alley near Pikes Place and I of course couldn’t help but take some outfit photos there.

The aquarium was pretty cute, but rather small. It’s located in this building on one of the piers which was cool to walk outside and boom there’s the ocean. However, we discovered that it didn’t have as many animals as we were expecting. It was pretty cool to see the seals and otters!

After the aquarium we did some serious shopping hitting up most of the stores we adore in the downtown area. This part of Seattle really reminded me of New York since we walked pretty much everywhere and everything was so close to each other. I got some new dresses from Forever, we searched through Old Navy, and of course I tried to hunt down some thrift stores. It was a really fun afternoon!

If you follow me on twitter or snapchat (justmissymoo) then you know that this past week I was in Seattle for part of spring break and my birthday. This was the first time I had traveled over spring break and now I totally wish I had more over the last few years. This trip was so much fun!

My friend and I landed on Saturday around lunch time, and got to grab some lunch in Pikes Place with some lovely people we met on the train before we could check into our hotel. We had planned that night to do our harbor cruise that was included with out city pass. Since we new we were going to be out on the water I bundled up for this outing. I layered a sweater, a massive blanket scarf, this adorable camel coat, and then gloves and a beanie. As we were trekking down to the docks it started to rain which was super exciting to experience in Seattle!

What To Pack For Seattle

March 11, 2016

What to pack for Seattle Seattle packing list what to pack

Spring break is almost here which means so is my Seattle trip! I am so excited to be going to a new place and for all the fun things that we have planned.

I wanted to give you guys an overview of how I packed for the trip and my packing tips. Typically, I am an over-packer. I also would rather have too many clothes or outfits than not enough. I tend to just pack multiple tops to every bottom and choose outfits once I’m at a location depending on how I feel that day. This¬†method works out pretty well for me, but it doesn’t work for everyone. However, while packing for Seattle I actually packed via outfits for each day I would be there and then added about 2 extra sweaters. Packing this way was just as simple for me and I think I was able to not over pack as much.

Without giving you too much detail as to the outfits I will be wearing (those posts will come after the trip of course) heres a little run down as to what I packed.

The details:

Saturday-Tuesday and I will be going out to a nicer dinner one night for my birthday

What I packed:

  • 2 dresses – one for a nice dinner, one to layer
  • 2 pairs of jeans – just incase one pair got soaked
  • 4 sweaters
  • 3 jackets
  • 2 scarves
  • 2 pairs of tights
  • Hunter rain boots
  • leather boots
  • heeled booties – for nice dinner

I have already planned out what we will be doing most of each day while we are going to be there so packing by outfits was a much easier way to pack this time under. What’s your go to way for packing?
